Frequently Asked Questions (with Answers!)

Are only High School Graduates & Chaperones allowed to attend the Grad Bash?

Yes, this evening is closed to the General Public.  You can only purchase tickets through the High School.

Can my senior invite a friend or family member to participate?

No, the event is for Portage Central High School Seniors only.

Can my senior drive themselves to the venue?

Unfortunately no, all seniors must be transported by transportation provided.

If my senior decides not to go, is there a refund?

No, there are no refunds for Grad Bash tickets. However, a student may transfer a ticket to another student.

Will my senior need additional money at Grad Bash?

There is no need for extra money.

What can my senior bring?

Your senior is asked only to bring car keys if they will be driving themselves to the high school.  More information to come on additional item(s).

Is there a safe place where my senior to store their belongings?

Yes, there will be a designated area. More information to come.

Can my child leave early?

No, your senior is not allowed to leave early. However, students who have sporting events the following day may do so, so long as pre-arrangements are made with the Grad Bash Chairs prior to the event.

Can the parents volunteer to Chaperone?

YES! Please go to the volunteer page and click on the link to see what is available.

What kind of entertainment will there be?

The night will be jam packed with one-of-a-kind experiences!! There is something for everyone!

How does the Grad Bash pay for all of it?

The ticket sales help a lot, but thousands of dollars are earned through parents helping at fundraisers like; Pizza Fest,  Trivia Night, Pop Can Drive,  lei sales, and many requests for corporate donations. Any donation anyone would like to make is greatly appreciated. Go to fundraisers tab and click on the section for donations.

Are scholarships available if my student is unable to financially afford the cost of Grad Bash?

It is our hope that ALL students have the opportunity to attend their Senior Grad Bash.  Scholarships are available and strictly confidential between your student and their counselor.  Please have your student reach out to the counseling office.

What happens if a child is caught with alcohol?

Hopefully this will never happen, but in case it does happen, the child will be placed with an adult chaperone in a separate room until their parent arrives to pick them up. If no parent is available the police will determine the appropriate course of action.

How many Chaperones will there be?

We will have approximately 15-20 chaperones.

What is the dress code?

The seniors should wear comfortable casual clothes. More information to come.

What time should I expect my student to return to Portage Central HS?

Depending on the traffic, the students should arrive back at the school between 6:15am and 6:45am.
